Laserpod offers laser hair removal in our central London office, near Moorgate, Barbican and Liverpool Street tube stations. We use the best technology which is called the LightSheer Duet machine. Unlike some lasers, the LightSheer Duet machine has a wider surface area – this means fast treatment times and the least discomfort during treatment.

In terms of results, studies show that the Lumenis Lightsheer Duet gives far better results than the cheaper IPL technology. The advantages of the LightSheer Duet include less discomfort, most permanent results, faster treatment and less regrowth. This machine is also able to treat Asian and sensitive skin although we will need to patch test for both.

The High-Speed LightSheer Duet uses state-of-the-art diode lasers with vacuum-assist technology to remove unwanted hair and with greater speed and comfort than other methods.

About the LightSheer Duet laser treatment

The High-Speed LightSheer DUET is a laser that produces a larger beam of highly concentrated light. The light emitted is well absorbed by the pigment located in the hair follicles. During the procedure, the laser pulses for a fraction of a second, allows the hair to absorb the light and heat up. As it heats up, the hair shaft and bulb are damaged which significantly impedes its ability to re-grow. And with the large spot size, the process treats numerous hair follicles simultaneously, making the treatment much faster than traditional laser hair removal alternatives. Lumenis LightSheer Duet offers your physician two handpiece choices depending on your needs.

The LightSheer High-Speed handpiece uses breakthrough vacuum assisted technology in combination with diode laser light to allow rapid and comfortable treatment of large areas.

A back or legs can now be treated in 15 to 20 minutes, without the need for topical numbing creams. The machine also offers your laser technician the gold standard LightSheer ET™ handpiece with ChillTip® cooling for smaller areas.

What can you expect?

Laser hair removal requires multiple treatments. This is because the laser works best when hair is in an early growth stage (referred to as anagen), and all the hair are not in this phase at the same time

I was recommended Lightsheer Duet machine by a friend of mine and having done my research about I found Laserpod clinic on Google. As Laserpod already had had great reviews I decided to book a consultation.I met Siobhan and I quickly realised she really does know what she’s doing and she is very patient! She has both a wealth of experience as well as depth of knowledge about her profession. I normally ask a lot of questions when it comes to any skin/body treatments as I’m very concerned about possible skin issues and I really appreciated how reassuring, helpful and knowledgeable she was.I have been doing laser hair removal at Laserpod since mid 2020. Each appointment has been conducted in a very efficient, professional, and at the same time caring and gentle manner. I have now done several areas (full legs, armpits, bikini, upper lip) and I see a massive difference. Siobhan is absolutely brilliant, and she has ensured I’ve achieved the skin results I was after. I could not recommend her more. There is still some work to be done as lockdowns and the recent events have made it hard for me to progress at a pace I wanted to, so I will continue with the sessions. But so far I could not be happier with the difference Siobhan’s services have made to my physical looks and my overall confidence levels.
