QUESTIONS ABOUT LASER HAIR REMOVAL

I want to remove my beard hair – will there be any side effects or risks?

Side effects are minimal and vary depending on skin type. Redness and swelling around the follicle may occur, but this is normal and indicates the follicle has responded to treatment. if you have infected hair follicles laser hair removal is a much better treatment option than shaving which can irritate the skin further

Does it hurt?

What is the difference between Laser and IPL?
Laser is a targeted beam of light which is very precise. IPL is a much cheaper less powerful technology and using different varieties of light waves. This means only some of the waves during your IPL treatment will actually be having an effect. IPL can lead to the skin absorbing the light as well as the hairs so there can be an increased risk of burns.

How should I remove hair between treatments?
Carry on using hair removal creams or shaving to your heart’s content. We advise against waxing or plucking as this can upset the hair growth cycle which could leave you needing more sessions.

I was recommended Lightsheer Duet machine by a friend of mine and having done my research about I found Laserpod clinic on Google. As Laserpod already had had great reviews I decided to book a consultation.I met Siobhan and I quickly realised she really does know what she’s doing and she is very patient! She has both a wealth of experience as well as depth of knowledge about her profession. I normally ask a lot of questions when it comes to any skin/body treatments as I’m very concerned about possible skin issues and I really appreciated how reassuring, helpful and knowledgeable she was.I have been doing laser hair removal at Laserpod since mid 2020. Each appointment has been conducted in a very efficient, professional, and at the same time caring and gentle manner. I have now done several areas (full legs, armpits, bikini, upper lip) and I see a massive difference. Siobhan is absolutely brilliant, and she has ensured I’ve achieved the skin results I was after. I could not recommend her more. There is still some work to be done as lockdowns and the recent events have made it hard for me to progress at a pace I wanted to, so I will continue with the sessions. But so far I could not be happier with the difference Siobhan’s services have made to my physical looks and my overall confidence levels.
